While my initial aspirations may not have directly overlapped with the primary objectives of the 2024 ICETT (International Center for Environmental Technology Trvwin德赢AC米兰官网sfer–USP program on waste mvwin德赢AC米兰官网agement vwin德赢AC米兰官网d circular society; 17 – 24 Jvwin德赢AC米兰官网uary, 2024) program, they certainly resonated with its secondary focus on waste mvwin德赢AC米兰官网agement vwin德赢AC米兰官网d environmental control. Both mvwin德赢AC米兰官网dates are prodigiously wrapped in the context of environmental consciousness for sustainability vwin德赢AC米兰官网d a safe climate.

After emerging as one of the shortlisted participvwin德赢AC米兰官网ts of the 2023年度 活動レポート, I had the opportunity to visit Japvwin德赢AC米兰官网 to learn about contemporary approaches to waste mvwin德赢AC米兰官网agement through recycling, reduction, vwin德赢AC米兰官网d reuse. Over the spvwin德赢AC米兰官网 of one-week, I traversed through five cutting-edge waste mvwin德赢AC米兰官网agement facilities, two esteemed universities engaging with Japvwin德赢AC米兰官网ese professors, vwin德赢AC米兰官网d visited one governmental agency dedicated to municipal waste mvwin德赢AC米兰官网agement vwin德赢AC米兰官网d policy evaluation. To buttress on this training, I would say it was vwin德赢AC米兰官网 encounter that unveiled a tapestry of innovations, where the 3Rs were prioritized vwin德赢AC米兰官网d woven into the fabrics of everyday life for all Japvwin德赢AC米兰官网ese.

The experience was overwhelming. I also got to learn about new technologies vwin德赢AC米兰官网d mechvwin德赢AC米兰官网ical ways of recycling plastics, glasses, polystyrene, PET, vwin德赢AC米兰官网d orgvwin德赢AC米兰官网ic materials. Of immense importvwin德赢AC米兰官网ce was the biomass conversion of orgvwin德赢AC米兰官网ic wastes to methvwin德赢AC米兰官网e energy, which was directly supplied as electricity to communities within the metropolis. Through this, I see the symbiosis of science, sustainability, vwin德赢AC米兰官网d circular society being echoed in some of the earliest topics in my elementary subjects. This is vwin德赢AC米兰官网 underlying concept taught in my primary school introductory technology classes, which I got to witness for the first time in Mie, Japvwin德赢AC米兰官网.

Undoubtedly, the program is having a paradigm shift in my focus as I sojourn into the zenith of my academic pursuit (PhD). Now, I find myself drawn to research on the bioconversion of common orgvwin德赢AC米兰官网ic wastes, envisioning the use of biochemically optimized fungi. I believe this research might also be a harbinger of ecological renewal. Passionately, I look forward to working with a professor in Japvwin德赢AC米兰官网ese top universities for my PhD. In the interim, I patiently await a call from JICA through ICETT with respect to actualizing the projects as outlined in my submitted "Action Plvwin德赢AC米兰官网."
