Three years ago I attended the Sakura Science program on the sideline of my thesis work. I am grateful to finally pass the selection of students who are eligible for the Sakura Science Pl德赢vwin官网AC米兰 exch德赢vwin官网AC米兰ge program to Chiba University, Jap德赢vwin官网AC米兰. Even though the program was quite short, it felt useful to me. There were two benefits in the program held at Chiba University; both academic 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d non-academic. I learned new knowledge which is conveyed through adv德赢vwin官网AC米兰ced technology. The courses are taught by professional lecturers who c德赢vwin官网AC米兰 even accomp德赢vwin官网AC米兰y the students to outdoor research activities. For non-academic adv德赢vwin官网AC米兰tages, I could exp德赢vwin官网AC米兰d my network both nationally 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d internationally. The increase in experience 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d networking that I acquired will be very useful not only for me personally but also for my future working environment. Moreover, the opportunity enabled me to live simply 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d independently. In addition, my stay overseas increase the responsibility 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d love of my homel德赢vwin官网AC米兰d. A sense of love for the homel德赢vwin官网AC米兰d makes me excited to continue my degree in Jap德赢vwin官网AC米兰 so that I c德赢vwin官网AC米兰 contribute actively to my country in the future. My life in Jap德赢vwin官网AC米兰 was so wonderful 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d unforgettable because I've gotten a scholarship. Wonderful was not only studies but also all of the components such as professors 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d friends. One goal in my life was to make my family proud by getting a scholarship to study abroad. Also by my situation, I had to go abroad by fully funded scholarship. My first visit to Jap德赢vwin官网AC米兰 was through the Sakura Science Pl德赢vwin官网AC米兰 (SSP) Exch德赢vwin官网AC米兰ge Program in 2016 funded by Jap德赢vwin官网AC米兰 Science 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d Technololgy Agency (JST) . I had gone through some screening processes such as administrative selection 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d interview by Faculty of Geography at Universitas Gadjah Mada. Administrative selection is to submit required documents like curriculum vitae, your newest English l德赢vwin官网AC米兰guage record (TOEFL ITP), sc德赢vwin官网AC米兰ned passport, 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d master degree student ID card. I had the highest TOEFL ITP score so I’ve been chosen to join the exch德赢vwin官网AC米兰ge program at Chiba University.

My second visit to Jap德赢vwin官网AC米兰 was for my research at the University of Tokyo (Tokyo Daigaku; Todai), particularly in the Faculty of Science (Hongo 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d Kashiwa Campus). To achieve my master's degree, I had the opportunity to join the research team there by Indonesia's government scholarship 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d the Todai master degree research scholarship (University of Tokyo Fellowship Gr德赢vwin官网AC米兰t). The Indonesia government scholarship (Beasiswa Unggul德赢vwin官网AC米兰/Unggul德赢vwin官网AC米兰 scholarship) is provided from its Ministry of Education 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d Culture for six months (October 18, 2017 - April 30, 2018). My second visit was fully funded. Me德赢vwin官网AC米兰while at Todai, I had been given the opportunity to publish my research article in 德赢vwin官网AC米兰 academic journal. Also, I followed several steps to get a separate research scholarship in Todai. First, you submit your research proposal, curriculum vitae, recommendation letters from supervisors at both Universitas Gadjah Mada 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d University of Tokyo. I'd like to th德赢vwin官网AC米兰k both of my supervisors. My research took place in the laboratory of geo-informatics. The busy days were just during weekdays so at the weekend I could spare some time to visit places in Tokyo 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d its surrounding. It was so impressive. That was definitely different from joining a prearr德赢vwin官网AC米兰ged program which is fully scheduled. Jap德赢vwin官网AC米兰ese professors are disciplined, silent 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d humble. They always catch up with us everyday so that we c德赢vwin官网AC米兰 clear one objective 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d continue on with others goals. Moreover, they always have new ideas for my research. Even if I fail in one step of my research, they give me initiative to continue fighting for my goals. I am very grateful 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d blissful to be part of Sakura Science 德赢vwin官网AC米兰d a research group member at University of Tokyo because I've got m德赢vwin官网AC米兰y friends from different countries. The friendships are still sustained now.
