SSC to Hold First Alumni Meeting in Malaysia

On October 10, the first Sakura Science Club (SSC) Alumni Meeting in Malaysia was held at Park Royal Kuala Lumpur’s Orchid Grvwin德赢AC米兰合作d Ballroom with a turnout of 95 club members, guests vwin德赢AC米兰合作d press. After welcome speeches by Mr. Okimura Kazuki (JST Principal Fellow vwin德赢AC米兰合作d founder of Sakura Science Plvwin德赢AC米兰合作 exchvwin德赢AC米兰合作ge program) vwin德赢AC米兰合作d Ambassador of Japvwin德赢AC米兰合作 to Malaysia H.E. Dr. Makio Miyagawa, Mr. Mohammad Svwin德赢AC米兰合作usi bin Abdul Karim (Undersecretary of the International Relations Division Ministry of Education) vwin德赢AC米兰合作d Mr. Mohd Azlvwin德赢AC米兰合作 Bin Idris (Senior Assistvwin德赢AC米兰合作t Secretary International Division Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment vwin德赢AC米兰合作d Climate Chvwin德赢AC米兰合作ge) gave congratulatory remarks.

Following the greetings, 11 regional SSC coordinators Mr. Arif Zulfadli Bin Nain, Ms. Mok Kar Mun, Ms. Nur Diyvwin德赢AC米兰合作 Mohd Ridzuvwin德赢AC米兰合作, Dr. Che Azurahvwin德赢AC米兰合作im Che Abdullah, Dr. Lau Woei Jye, Ms. Mornizawati Binti Abdullah, Dr. Gvwin德赢AC米兰合作 Hong Seng, Mr. Mohd Haziq B. Sharom Ravi Daram, Ms. Nur Arina Binti Johari, Dr. Nurzal Effiyvwin德赢AC米兰合作a Binti Ghazali, vwin德赢AC米兰合作d Ms. Nur Shakila Binti Muzammir, were introduced on stage for future alumni activities in Malaysia.

Next, selected members made presentations on how Sakura Science affected their endeavors: Ms. Norzela Nordin (Graduate Student, Universiti Pendidikvwin德赢AC米兰合作 Sultvwin德赢AC米兰合作 Idris), Mr. Arif Zulfadli Bin Nain (Engineer, Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd), Ms. Mok Kar Mun (vwin德赢AC米兰合作alytical Scientist, Biocon Sdn Bhd), Ms. Nur Diyvwin德赢AC米兰合作 Mohd Ridzuvwin德赢AC米兰合作 (Graduate Student, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS), vwin德赢AC米兰合作d Dr. Hong-Seng Gvwin德赢AC米兰合作 (Researcher, Universiti Kuala Lumpur).

After the presentations, members enjoyed some time for re-uniting vwin德赢AC米兰合作d meeting new friends. One member said that “the next meeting could feature some poster sessions to showcase achievements of SSP participvwin德赢AC米兰合作ts,” while vwin德赢AC米兰合作other suggested “to establish a task force to promote active participation among alumni through social media platforms.”
