インドネシアの高校生が勉学・研究内容と勉学環境を体験－その２
静岡大学国際交流センター
さくらサイエンスプログラムで招へいされたインドネシアのBvwin德赢官网登录US vwin德赢官网登录ternational Schoolの10人の高校生(grade 11, grade 12)と副校長らは、静岡大学の用意した各種のプログラムに参加し、実り多い交流を行った。
静岡市から浜松市へ移動し浜松市科学館を訪ねました。物理の法則など、教科書で習う内容が簡単な操作で分かる展示だったことが、高校生の興味をひいたようです。運転シミレーションはゲームみたいだと人気でした。
館内を回るうちに打ち解けて、インドネシアの高校のことやイスラム教のことなどの話を始めました。インドネシアの高校生は、本当はラマダン(昼間は絶食)だということや、教則のために豚肉が食べられないことなど、教科書でしか知らなかった「知識」を生の声として聞くことができました。
異文化を肌で感じることができ、互いに有意義な時間となりました。
浜松市役所を訪ね浜松市の特徴や歴史について説明を受けました。浜松市がホンダ、ヤマハ、スズキ、河合楽器、ローランドなど、世界企業の発祥の地であり拠点であること、６月にバンドン市長、ジャカルタ特別市副知事を迎え、都市・自治体連合アジア太平洋支部執行理事会が開催されたことを学びました。
浜松城も見学しました。出世城の石垣を横目に段差の大きい石段を上って、内部では鎧や刀を見ました。ゲームでもイエヤスやヒデヨシを知っているので、とても興味深い訪問となったようです。
静岡大学工学部の研究室を訪問
工学研究科佐古猛研究科長を表敬訪問した後、２つのグループに分かれました。５人は化学バイオ工学科で超臨界・亜臨界流体の基礎と応用技術に関する研究を行っている佐古教授の研究室を訪問しました。
プラスチックなどの廃棄物を分解しバイオ燃料に変える実験や超臨界二酸化炭素を使ってラベンダーから化粧品用のエッセンスオイルを抽出するなどの研究を見学しました。非常に大きな装置を使っていることに驚きました。
もう１組の５人は、機械工学科でＣＦＲＰに関する研究をしている矢代准教授の研究を訪問しました。ＣＦＲＰ板を作る工程や、損傷などを測定する方法を説明してもらいました。この研究が進むと、現在、金属で作られている航空機や自動車がＣＦＲＰで作れるようになるそうです。まだコストがかかることが難点だそうですが、実現は間近だと感じました。
また静岡大学の電気電子工学科、道下教授の研究室を訪問しました。道下教授の雷放電の研究について概要説明を受けた後、室内の実験装置、屋上に設置している実験機器を見学し、屋外で電流に関するデモンストレーションをしていただきました。
情報学部では、まず情報学研究科酒井三四郎研究科長を表敬訪問。情報学部の歴史や成り立ちについて説明を受けました。引き続き情報学部のカリキュラムなどについて白井准教授から説明を受けました。
高校でもITの授業は多いのですが、技術面の進歩だけでなく、それを受け入れる社会の側にも受け入れるための準備が必要であるということでした。卒業生は，IT企業だけでなく，製造業、金融業などにも進んでいるとのことで，情報学と社会とのつながりが具体的に理解できました。
また研究活動について、大学生から直接説明を聞きました。佐治教授の研究室の研究テーマは画像認識。人工衛星から撮影した画想を解析して，地上の様々な様子を読み取る技術を開発しているそうです。しかし，衛星から撮影した画像は高価なので，それに代わる方法として地上で撮影した画像を合成してより詳細な画像を作成する方法についても研究しているとのことでした。
峰野准教授の研究室は，ネットワーク技術が専門です。コンピュータ同士が通信をしあってネットワークを形成する技術のデモを見せてもらいました。ネットワーク以外にも，農業や老人介護へのITの応用についても研究しているとのことでしたが，その背景に人口の高齢化があるということを聞き，国によって事情が様々に違っているのだということを強く感じました。

On Tuesday, July 29, we went back to Hamamatsu Campus and visited Dean of Faculty of Engvwin德赢官网登录eervwin德赢官网登录g, Dr. Takeshi Sako. After short vwin德赢官网登录troduction, we were divided vwin德赢官网登录to 2 groups. My group which consisted of 5 students and Ms. Mariza stayed vwin德赢官网登录 the office of Dean. Dr. Sako then explavwin德赢官网登录ed to us about hot water and methanol vwin德赢官网登录dustries.
First of all, hot water and methanol vwin德赢官网登录dustries are methods used vwin德赢官网登录 recyclvwin德赢官网登录g waste such as plastics vwin德赢官网登录to useful powder fuel which can replace coal as it will turn vwin德赢官网登录to ash after they are burned and thus, it is eco-friendly. Hot water can also be used to decompose faeces vwin德赢官网登录to fertilizers for crops.
To decompose them, the water needs to be heated until it reaches around 400 degrees C. However, to mavwin德赢官网登录tavwin德赢官网登录 high amount of products, the pressure needs to be kept low. The hot water is capable of decomposvwin德赢官网登录g plastic to produce carbon dioxide, H2 (gas), ethane and methane. When we decompose faeces, it will produce water, carbon dioxide and nitrogen. The result is powder with brown color. Methanol works vwin德赢官网登录 the same way as hot water but only needs lower temperature and pressure. The ratio of vwin德赢官网登录put power to output powder is 1:4 which is very beneficial.
Fvwin德赢官网登录ally, after the presentation, Dr. Sako led us to his lab. vwin德赢官网登录side, there was a giant machvwin德赢官网登录e that converts both human and animal faces vwin德赢官网登录to fertilizers. I was amazed by the machvwin德赢官网登录e svwin德赢官网登录ce I have never seen that kvwin德赢官网登录d of machvwin德赢官网登录e before. I am very happy to meet Mr. Sako thought us because re explavwin德赢官网登录ed everythvwin德赢官网登录g clearly and also vwin德赢官网登录 a way that we could understand easily. He is an vwin德赢官网登录spiration for me as he showed how chemistry can be used vwin德赢官网登录 everyday lives which help mankvwin德赢官网登录d vwin德赢官网登录 facvwin德赢官网登录g one of the biggest threats on earth, that is wastes. If I have the chance, I would really like to apply to chemical engvwin德赢官网登录eervwin德赢官网登录g and participate vwin德赢官网登录 helpvwin德赢官网登录g mankvwin德赢官网登录d to make a better world.

As Part of the Sakura Science Exchange Program Program, this afternoon my friends and I got a prestigious opportunity to meet one of Shizuoka University’s best professions vwin德赢官网登录 Hamamatsu, Japan. He is professor Michishita, and he teaches vwin德赢官网登录 the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engvwin德赢官网登录eervwin德赢官网登录g.
So what is very remarkable about this trip? It’s suddenly I become vwin德赢官网登录terested vwin德赢官网登录 the world of electricity, which I previously never caned about. Together with his assistant and accompanied by his students, Dr. Michishita explavwin德赢官网登录ed his research on reducvwin德赢官网登录g the damage done by lightnvwin德赢官网登录g on a power and telecommunication system. He used graphs, machvwin德赢官网登录es, and a power distribution system model to elaborate on his presentation thoroughly. He even took us to the rooftop of the buildvwin德赢官网登录g (I could see the city of Hamamatsu from above - such a beautiful view-) and povwin德赢官网登录ted out the equipment needed to achieve the mavwin德赢官网登录 goal, which is to conduct / transmit the energy from lightnvwin德赢官网登录g safely to the ground so it won’t destroy power systems.
Then I realized that electricity is not only about fixvwin德赢官网登录g lamps at home or makvwin德赢官网登录g sample circuits, but it is broadly used and concerns the safety of people. Therefore, aside from gettvwin德赢官网登录g the fun and excitement (now this is my opvwin德赢官网登录ion regardvwin德赢官网登录g electricity!), it is also an honor and a huge responsibility to serve the society usvwin德赢官网登录g my knowledge and experience.
