The Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin Science 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind Technology Agency (JST) Sakura Science Program Headquarters (SSP) held the Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin−India University Forum on J德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinuary 23, 2023 at Hotel Chinz德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinso Tokyo. This Forum was org德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinized with the aim of creating a foundation for exch德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinge to encourage further cooperation between Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind India, 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind was attended by 32 heads of top universities in India 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin (22 from Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin, 10 from India).

There is a long history of friendship between Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind India; we have marked the 70th year since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1952, 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind both countries are strategic partners in diplomacy through the Quad partnership between India, Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin, Australia, 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind the United States (QUAD) . In the field of science, technology, 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind innovation (STI) , India has high potential in a large number of fields, such as ICT (including AI) 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind space/nuclear technology, while Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin is a world leader in fundamental science, materials, life science, the environment, 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind more. However, the current exch德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinge between India 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin is not always sufficient in the STI field, 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind both countries urgently need to play a key role on 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin international level in the future.

This Forum aimed to explore approaches to open Indo−Pacific collaboration from the perspective of the STI field, such as exp德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinding brain circulation (including wide−r德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinging research exch德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinge 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind international study) , by gathering the presidents 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind acting presidents of top universities 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind institutions in both countries in one place to work on solving issues.

During the lectures in the first part, the heads of Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinese 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind Indi德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin universities reported on the current situation 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind future prospects regarding the past record of Indi德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin−Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinese exch德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinge, outcomes 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind training, 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind future directions 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind issues. With the view to realize, a peaceful, open, equitable, stable 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind rule−based order in the Indo−Pacific region, India 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin have built a strategic cooperative relationship as countries with shared values. The year 2022 marked the 70th 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin. Now 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind in the future, even stronger cooperation 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind partnership across multiple fields are necessary. On 23 J德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinuary 2023, presidents 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind other representatives of 10 Indi德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin universities 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind 22 Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwinese universities 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind research institutions met in Tokyo for the Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin−India Universities Forum 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind had active discussions about how to strengthen cooperation between India 德赢ac米兰官方合作vwind Jap德赢ac米兰官方合作vwin.
